Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was hungry afterward.
And immediately the Spirit drove him out into the wilderness. He was in the wilderness forty days tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals; and the angels were serving him.
Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness for forty days, being tempted by the devil. He ate nothing in those days. When they were completed, he was hungry.
