And he said to them, in parables, A man planted a vineyard and made a hedge about it, and dug a wine-vat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went abroad. And he sent a servant to the husbandmen at the time to receive from the husbandmen of the fruits of the vineyard; and they took him, and beat him, and sent him away empty. read more.
And again he sent another servant to them, and they wounded him on the head, and treated him shamefully. And he sent another, and they killed him; and many others, and they beat some, and killed some. Having yet one beloved son, he sent him last to them, saying, They will reverence my son. But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours. And seizing him, they killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.

And again he sent a third; and they wounded him, and cast him out. And the lord of the vineyard said, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son; doubtless, when they see him they will respect him. But seeing him, the husbandmen reasoned with themselves, saying, This is the heir; let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours. And they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What, therefore, will the lord of the vineyard do to them?

AND he also said to the disciples, There was a certain rich man that had a steward; and he was accused to him of wasting his property. And calling him, he said to him, What is this which I hear of you? Render an account of your stewardship; for you can be no longer a steward. And the steward said within himself, What shall I do, because my lord takes the stewardship away from me? I am not strong enough to dig; I am ashamed to beg. read more.
I know what I will do, that when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses. And calling each one of his lord's debtors, he said to the first, How much do you owe my lord? And he said, A hundred baths [1,350 gallons] of oil. And he said to him, Take your bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty. Then he said to another, And how much do you owe? And he said, A hundred cors [1,445 bushels] of wheat. And he said to him, Take your bill, and write eighty.
