And on the next day as they returned from Bethany he was hungry; and seeing a fig tree at a distance having leaves, he went to see if he could find any thing on it. And having come to it, he found nothing except leaves, for it was not time for figs. And he spoke and said to it, Let no one eat fruit of you forever! And his disciples heard him.
And passing along in the morning, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. And Peter remembering, said to him, Rabbi, behold the fig tree which you cursed is dried up. And Jesus answered and said to them, Have faith in God; read more.

Beloved, if our minds do not condemn us, we have boldness before God, and what we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do the things which are pleasing in his sight.
