Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests, and said: What are you willing to give me, and I will deliver him to you? And they weighed to him thirty pieces of silver. And from that time he sought an opportunity to deliver him up.
And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went away to the chief priests, that he might deliver him up to them. And when they heard it, they were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently deliver him up.

Again he sent other servants more than the first: and they treated them in like manner. But afterward he sent to them his son, saying, They will reverence my son. But the vine-dressers, when they saw the son, said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and seize upon the inheritance. And they took him, and carried him out of the vineyard, and killed him. Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vine dressers? They said to him: He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and let out his vineyard to other vine dressers, who will give him the fruits in their season.

But those vine-dressers said one to another, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours. And they took him, and killed him, and threw him out of the vineyard. What, then, will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy those vine-dressers, and give his vineyard to others.
