When I was with you day after day in the Temple Courts, you did not lay hands on me; but now your time has come, and the power of Darkness."

The place was well known to Judas, the betrayer, for Jesus and his disciples had often met there. So Judas, who had obtained the soldiers of the Roman garrison, and some police-officers from the Chief Priests and the Pharisees, came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons.
