Then the pharisees went and consulted how they might insnare Him in his discourse. And they send to Him their disciples along with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art a man of truth, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest for any man; for thou regardest not the person of men: Tell us therefore what thou thinkest, Is it lawful to give tribute to Cesar, or not?
and asked Him, saying, Master, Moses said, If any man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up seed unto his brother. Now there were with us seven brothers, and the first married and died, and having no issue left his wife to his brother; likewise the second also, and the third, even to seven; read more.

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ sitteth at the right hand of God. Mind the things above, not those on the earth. For ye are dead as to the world, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

Upon his saying this, there rose a contention between the pharisees and the sadducees; and the people were divided. For the sadducees say that there is no resurrection, nor angel, nor spirit; but the pharisees acknowledge both.
