And having sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples across the brook Kedron, where was a garden, into which he entered with his disciples.

And having sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

And having sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

Then Jesus cometh with them to a place called Gethsemane, and saith to the disciples, Sit here, while I go yonder and pray. And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to he sorrowful and full of anguish. Then he saith to them, My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death; remain here, and watch with me. read more.
And he came a little nearer, and fell on his face, praying and saying, Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me! nevertheless, not as I will, but as Thou wilt. And he cometh to the disciples, and findeth them sleeping, and saith to Peter, Is it so that ye could not watch with me one hour? Watch, and pray that ye enter not into temptation; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. Again he went away a second time, and prayed, saying, My Father, if this [cup] cannot pass away from me, but I must drink it, thy will be done! And coming again he found them sleeping; for their eyes were heavy. And leaving them, he went away again, and prayed the third time, saying again the same words. Then he cometh to the disciples, and saith to them, Sleep on, and take your rest! Lo! the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is delivered up into the hands of sinners. Rise, let us be going; lo! he is at hand that delivereth me up.

And they come to a place called Gethsemane; and he saith to his disciples, Sit here, while I pray. And he taketh with him Peter and James and John; and began to be in great consternation and anguish. And he saith to them, My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death; remain here and watch. read more.
And going on a little farther, he fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it was possible, the hour might pass from him. And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible to thee! take away this cup from me. But not what I will, but what thou wilt. And he cometh and findeth them sleeping; and he saith to Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? Couldst not thou watch one hour? Watch, and pray that ye enter not into temptation; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. And again he went away and prayed, saying the same words. And returning, he found them again sleeping, for their eyes were heavy; and they knew not what to answer him. And he cometh the third time, and saith to them, Sleep on, and take your rest! It is enough! the hour is come: lo! the Son of man is delivered up into the hands of sinners. Rise, let us be going; lo! he that delivereth me up is at hand.

And going out, he went, as he was wont, to the Mount of Olives; and the disciples followed him. And when he was at the place, he said to them, Pray that ye may not enter into temptation. And he withdrew from them about a stones throw; and kneeling down he prayed, read more.
saying, Father, if thou art willing to remove this cup from meyet not my will, but thine be done! And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him. And being in an agony, he prayed more earnestly. And his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling to the ground. And rising up from prayer, he came to the disciples, and found them sleeping for sorrow, and said to them, Why sleep ye? Rise, and pray that ye may not enter into temptation.

And on the first of the days of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying, Where wilt thou that we make ready for thee to eat the passover? And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say to him, The Teacher saith, My time is at hand; I keep the passover at thy house with my disciples. And the disciples did as Jesus directed them, and made ready the passover. read more.
And when evening came, he took his place at table with the twelve disciples. And as they were eating, he said, Truly do I say to you, that one of you will betray me. And they were exceedingly sorrowful, and began every one to say to him, Is it I, Lord? And he answering said, He that hath dipped his hand with me in the dish, he will betray me. The Son of man indeed goeth away, as it hath been written concerning him; but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! Well were it for that man if he had not been born. Then Judas, his betrayer, answering said, Is it I, Rabbi? He saith to him, It is. And, as they were eating, Jesus took a loaf, and having blessed, broke it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. And he took a cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; for this is my blood of the covenant, which is shed for many for remission of sins. And I say to you, I shall not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in the kingdom of my Father. And having sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

And on the first day of the feast of unleavened bread, when they used to kill the passover, his disciples say to him, Where wilt thou that we go and make ready for thee to eat the passover? And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith to them, Go into the city, and there will meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water; follow him; and wherever he goeth in, say to the master of the house, The Teacher saith, Where is my guestchamber, where I may eat the passover with my disciples? read more.
And he will show you a large upper room furnished and prepared; and there make ready for us. And the disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had told them; and they made ready the passover. And when it was evening, he cometh with the twelve. And as they were reclining at table and eating, Jesus said, Truly do I say to you, that one of you will betray me,one that is eating with me. They began to be sorrowful, and to say to him one by one, Is it I? And he said to them, It is one of the twelve, one that is dipping with me in the dish. For the Son of man indeed goeth away, as it hath been written concerning him; but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! Well were it for that man if he had not been born. And as they were eating, he took a loaf, and blessed, and broke it, and gave it to them, and said, Take; this is my body. And he took a cup, and having given thanks, gave it to them; and they all drank of it. And he said to them, This is my blood of the covenant, which is shed for many. Truly do I say to you, I shall not drink hereafter of the fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.

Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed; and he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and make ready for us the passover, that we may eat it. And they said to him, Where wilt thou that we make it ready? read more.
And he said to them, Lo! when ye have entered the city, there will meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he goeth in; and ye shall say to the master of the house, The Teacher saith to thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I may eat the passover with my disciples? And he will show you a large upper room furnished; there make ready. And they went and found as he had said to them; and they made ready the passover. And when the hour had come, he placed himself at table, and the apostles with him. And he said to them, Earnestly have I desired to eat this passover with you, before I suffer. For I say to you, that I shall eat it no more, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God. And he took a cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves. For I say to you, that I shall not drink henceforth of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall have come. And he took a loaf, and gave thanks, and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, This is my body, which is given for you; this do in remembrance of me. And in like manner he took the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is about to be shed for you.
