How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take out the splinter from your eye,' when there lies the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite! take the plank out of your own eye first, and then you will see properly how to take the splinter out of your brother's eye.

So why do you criticize your brother? And you, why do you look down upon your brother? Each of us then will have to answer for himself to God. So let us stop criticizing one another; rather make up your mind never to put any stumbling-block or hindrance in your brother's way.
