And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, and said: This is a desert place, and the hour is now past; send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves food. But Jesus said to them: They need not go away; do you give them food. They said to him: We have here but five loaves and two fishes. read more.
He said: Bring them hither to me. And he commanded the multitudes to recline upon the grass: and he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looked up to heaven, and blessed, and broke, and gave the bread to the disciples, and the disciples gave it to the multitudes. And they all ate and were satisfied. And they took up what remained of the broken pieces, twelve baskets full. And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children.

And the day began to decline; and the twelve came and said to him: Send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and the country round about, and lodge, and find food; for we are here in a desert place. But he said to them: Do you give them food. They replied: We have nothing but five loaves and two fishes, unless we go and buy food for all these people. For there were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples: Make them recline in companies of fifty. read more.
And they did so, and made them all recline. And he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and broke, and gave them to the disciples, to set before the multitude. And they all ate, and were satisfied; and there was taken up what remained to them of the broken pieces, twelve baskets.
