Your new moons and your appointed festivals my soul hates; they have become to me like burden, I am not able to bear [them]. And when you stretch out your hands, I will hide my eyes from you; even though you make many prayers, I [will] not be listening. Your hands are full of blood.

But to the wicked God says, "What [right] have you to recite my statutes and {mention my covenant with your mouth}, while you yourself hate discipline, and cast my words behind you?
