And when they had come in, they went up into the upper room where they were making their abode, namely, Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon the zealot, and Judas the brother of James.

Now there were certain Greeks among those who came up to worship at the feast. These came therefore to Philip, who was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, saying, Sir, we wish to see Jesus. Philip goeth and telleth Andrew; Andrew and Philip go and tell Jesus.


Philip saith to him, Lord, show us the Father, and we shall be satisfied. Jesus saith to him, Have I been so long time with you, and dost thou not know me, Philip? He that hath seen me hath seen the Father; how is it that thou sayest, Show us the Father? Dost thou not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak to you, I speak not from myself; but the Father, who dwelleth in me, doeth his works. read more.
Believe me, that I am in the Father, and the Father in me; but if not, believe for the very works sake. Truly, truly do I say to you, He that believeth in me, the works that I do shall he do also, and greater than these shall he do; because I am going to the Father, and whatever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do; that the Father may be glorified in the Son.


Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith to him, We have found him of whom Moses in the Law, and the Prophets wrote, Jesus, the son of Joseph, who is of Nazareth. And Nathanael said to him, Can any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith to him, Come and see. Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile. read more.
Nathanael saith to him, Whence dost thou know me? Jesus answered and said to him, Before Philip called thee, when thou wast under the figtree, I saw thee. Nathanael answered him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God, thou art the king of Israel. Jesus answered and said to him, Because I said to thee, I saw thee under the figtree, dost thou believe? Thou shalt see greater things than these.


Jesus then lifting up his eyes, and seeing that a great crowd was coming to him, saith to Philip, Whence are we to buy bread, that these may eat? But this he said to try him; for he himself knew what he was going to do. Philip answered him, Two hundred denaries worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that each one may take a tittle.


On the morrow he determined to go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip. And Jesus saith to him, Follow me.
