The demons pleaded with him: If you cast us out, send us into the herd of swine! He told them to go. And they came out, and went into the swine. The entire herd rushed down the hill into the sea, where they perished in the waters.
He let them do it. Then the unclean spirits came out and went into the pigs. The herd went rushing down a sharp slope into the sea. About two thousand of them died in the sea.
