But when thou art invited, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that invited thee cometh, he may say to thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have honor in the presence of them that sit at table with thee. For whoever exalteth himself shall be abased, and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
