Give ear, O our God, for we are ridiculed. Let their words of shame be turned back upon them, and let them be given up to plunder in a land where they are prisoners.

Have mercy on us, O Jehovah, be gracious to us, for we are greatly filled with contempt.

([[Psalm of David] when the prophet Nathan came to him after David's adultery with Bathsheba:]) Have mercy on me, O God, in keeping with your loving-kindness. According to your unlimited compassion, wipe out my transgressions.

O Jehovah, I heard the report about you and I am afraid of your actions. O Jehovah, make it live in the midst of the years. In the midst of the years make it known! When you are angry remember mercy.

Have mercy on us, O Jehovah, be gracious to us, for we are greatly filled with contempt.

Hear my prayers and the prayers of your people. In your home in heaven hear us and forgive us.

Let your compassion come to me that I may live, for your law is my delight.

Forgive your people Israel, whom you have redeemed, O Jehovah. Do not hold us responsible for the murder of an innocent person.' Forgive them of bloodguilt.

Hear O Jehovah when I cry with my voice. Be gracious to me and answer me.

Show us your loving-kindness, O Jehovah. Grant us your salvation.
