“O my soul, do not come into their secret council;
Let not my glory (honor) be united with their assembly [for I knew nothing of their plot];
Because in their anger they killed men [an honored man, Shechem, and the Shechemites],
And in their self-will they lamed oxen.


Depart from me, all you who do evil,
For the Lord has heard the voice of my weeping.


In his eyes an evil person is despised,
But he honors those who fear the Lord [and obediently worship Him with awe-inspired reverence and submissive wonder].
He keeps his word even to his own disadvantage and does not change it [for his own benefit];


A perverse heart shall depart from me;
I will not tolerate evil.


Leave me, you evildoers,
That I may keep the commandments of my God [honoring and obeying them].


O that You would kill the wicked, O God;
Go away from me, therefore, men of bloodshed.


If You would [only] slay the wicked, O God, and the men of blood depart from me -- " Who speak against You wickedly, Your enemies who take Your name in vain!



Blessings are on the head of the righteous [the upright, those in right standing with God],
But the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.

Everyone who hates (works against) his brother [in Christ] is [at heart] a murderer [by God’s standards]; and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

Are there not still treasures gained by wickedness in the house of the wicked, and a scant measure [a false measure for grain] that is abominable and accursed? Can I be pure [Myself, and acquit the man] with wicked scales and with a bag of deceitful weights? For [the city's] rich men are full of violence; her inhabitants have spoken lies and their tongues are deceitful in their mouths.

If You would [only] slay the wicked, O God, and the men of blood depart from me -- " Who speak against You wickedly, Your enemies who take Your name in vain!

Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened at all, that it cannot save, nor His ear dull with deafness, that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue mutters wickedness. read more.
None sues or calls in righteousness [but for the sake of doing injury to others -- "to take some undue advantage]; no one goes to law honestly and pleads [his case] in truth; they trust in emptiness, worthlessness and futility, and speaking lies! They conceive mischief and bring forth evil! They hatch adders' eggs and weave the spider's web; he who eats of their eggs dies, and [from an egg] which is crushed a viper breaks out [for their nature is ruinous, deadly, evil]. Their webs will not serve as clothing, nor will they cover themselves with what they make; their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands. Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood. Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; desolation and destruction are in their paths and highways.



O that You would kill the wicked, O God;
Go away from me, therefore, men of bloodshed.


wild waves of the sea, flinging up their own shame like foam; wandering stars, for whom the gloom of deep darkness has been reserved forever.


The iniquities done by a wicked man will trap him,
And he will be held with the cords of his sin.


For a cup [of His wrath] is in the hand of the Lord, and the wine foams;
It is well mixed and fully spiced, and He pours out from it;
And all the wicked of the earth must drain it and drink down to its dregs.


But You, O God, will bring down the wicked to the pit of destruction;
Men of blood and treachery will not live out half their days.
But I will [boldly and unwaveringly] trust in You.


The wicked will see it and be angered,
He will gnash his teeth and melt away [in despair and death];
The desire of the wicked will perish and come to nothing.




For yet a little while and the wicked one will be gone [forever];
Though you look carefully where he used to be, he will not be [found].
