For [when] they maintain this, it escapes [their] notice that the heavens existed long ago and the earth held together out of water and through water by the word of God, read more.
by means of which things the world that existed at that time was destroyed [by] being inundated with water. But by the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly people. Now, dear friends, do not let this one thing escape your [notice], that one day with the Lord [is] like a thousand years, and a thousand years [is] like one day.

And Jesus answered them, saying, "The hour has come that the Son of Man will be glorified. Truly, truly I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth [and] dies, it remains [by] itself alone. But if it dies, it bears much fruit. If anyone serves me, he must follow me, and where I am, there my servant will be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him. "Now my soul is troubled, and what shall I say? 'Father, deliver me from this hour'? But for this [reason] I have come to this hour! Father, glorify your name!" Then a voice came from heaven, "I have both glorified [it], and I will glorify [it] again." Now the crowd that stood [there] and heard [it] said {it had thundered}. Others were saying, "An angel has spoken to him!" Jesus answered and said, "This voice has not happened for my sake, but [for] your sake. Now is the judgment of this world! Now the ruler of this world will be thrown out!
