because [of the fact] that you broke faith with me in the midst of Israel at the waters of Meribah Kadesh, [in] the desert of Zin, because {you did not treat me as holy} in the midst of the {Israelites}.
So then please swear to me by Yahweh, because {I have shown loyalty to you}, and {you will also show loyalty} {to my family}. You must give me a sign of good faith,
But the {Israelites} broke faith concerning the devoted things. Achan son of Carmi son of Zabdi son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took from the devoted things; and {Yahweh's anger was kindled} against the {Israelites}.
And the thornbush said to the trees, 'If in good faith you [are] anointing me as king over you, then come and take refuge in my shade; if not, may fire go out from the thornbush and devour the cedars of Lebanon.'
"So then, if you have acted in good faith and sincerity in making Abimelech king, and if you have dealt well with Jerub-Baal and his house, and have dealt with him {according to his accomplishments}--
if you have acted in good faith and sincerity with Jerub-Baal and his house this day, then rejoice in Abimelech, and let him also rejoice in you.
Moreover, the Glory of Israel will not break faith and will not regret, for he [is] not a human that he should regret."
Shecaniah son of Jehiel, of the sons of Elam, answered and said to Ezra, "We ourselves have broken faith with our God and have married foreign women from the peoples of the land, and even now there is hope for Israel in spite of this.
Then Ezra the priest stood up and said to them, "You have broke faith and married foreign women, increasing the guilt of Israel.
You reject all [who] stray from your statutes, for their deceit [is] a breach of faith.
who made heaven and earth, the sea and all that [is] in them, the one who keeps faith forever,
And he said, "Surely my people [are] children; they will not break faith." And he became a Savior to them.
Do not put faith in a friend; put no trust in a close friend. Guard the doorways of your mouth from the one who lies in your lap.
But if God dresses the grass of the field in this way, [although it] is [here] today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not [do so] much more [for] you, you of little faith?
Now [when] Jesus heard [this], he was astonished, and said to those who were following [him], "Truly I say to you, I have found such great faith with no one in Israel.
And he said to them, "Why are you fearful, [you] of little faith?" Then he got up [and] rebuked the winds and the sea and there was a great calm.
And behold, they brought to him a paralytic lying on a stretcher, and [when] Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Have courage, child, your sins are forgiven."
But Jesus, turning around and seeing her, said, "Have courage, daughter! Your faith has healed you." And the woman was healed from that hour.
Then he touched their eyes, saying, "According to your faith let it be done for you."
And immediately Jesus extended his hand [and] caught him and said to him, "[You] of little faith! Why did you doubt?"
Then Jesus answered [and] said to her, "O woman, your faith [is] great! Let it be done for you as you want." And her daughter was healed from that hour.
But knowing [this], Jesus said, "Why are you discussing among yourselves that you did not take bread, [you] of little faith?
And he said to them, "Because of your little faith. For truly I say to you, if you have faith like a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here [to] there,' and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you."
And Jesus answered [and] said to them, "Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will do not only [what was done to] the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, 'Be lifted up and thrown into the sea," it will happen!
And [when] Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Child, your sins are forgiven."
And he said to them, "Why are you fearful? Do you not yet have faith?"
But he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be well from your suffering."
And Jesus said to him, "Go, your faith has healed you." And immediately he regained [his] sight and began to follow him on the road.
And Jesus answered [and] said to them, "Have faith in God!
And [when he] saw their faith, he said, "Friend, your sins are forgiven you."
And [when] Jesus heard these [things], he marveled at him, and turning around to the crowd that was following him, he said, "I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such great faith!"
And he said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you. Go in peace."
And he said to them, "Where [is] your faith?" But they were afraid [and] were astonished, saying to one another, "Who then is this, that he commands even the winds and the water and they obey him?"
And he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has saved you. Go in peace."
But if God clothes the grass in the field in this way, [although it] is [here] today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more [will he do so for] you, you of little faith?
So the Lord said, "If you have faith like a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it would obey you.
And he said to him, "Get up [and] go your way. Your faith has saved you."
I tell you that {he will see to it that justice is done} for them soon! Nevertheless, [when] the Son of Man comes, then will he find faith on earth?"

And [when they] arrived and called the church together, they reported all that God had done with them, and that he had opened a door of faith for the Gentiles.

to open their eyes [so that they] may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, [so that] they may receive forgiveness of sins and a share among those who are sanctified by faith in me.'
through whom we have received grace and apostleship for the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles on behalf of his name,
First, I give thanks to my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being proclaimed in the whole world.
that is, to be encouraged together with you through {our mutual faith}, both yours and mine.
For the righteousness of God is revealed in it from faith to faith, just as it is written, "But the one who is righteous by faith will live."
that is, the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. For [there] is no distinction,
whom God made publicly available as the mercy seat through faith in his blood, for a demonstration of his righteousness, because of the passing over of previously committed sins,
in the forbearance of God, for the demonstration of his righteousness in the present time, so that he should be just and the one who justifies the [person] by faith in Jesus.
Therefore, where [is] boasting? It has been excluded. By what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith.
For we consider a person to be justified by faith apart from the works of the law.
since God [is] one, who will justify {those who are circumcised} by faith and {those who are uncircumcised} through faith.
Therefore, do we nullify the law through faith? May it never be! But we uphold the law.
But to the one who does not work, but who believes in the one who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited for righteousness,
Therefore, [is] this blessing for {those who are circumcised}, or also for {those who are uncircumcised}? For we say, "Faith was credited to Abraham for righteousness."
And he received the sign of circumcision [as] a seal of the righteousness by faith which [he had] {while uncircumcised}, so that he could be the father of all who believe {although they are uncircumcised}, so that righteousness could be credited to them,
and the father {of those who are circumcised} to those who are not only from the circumcision, but who also follow in the footsteps of the faith of our father Abraham {which he had while uncircumcised}.
For the promise to Abraham or to his descendants, [that] he would be heir of the world, [was] not through the law, but through the righteousness by faith.
For if those of the law [are] heirs, faith is rendered void and the promise is nullified.
Because of this, [it is] by faith, in order that [it may be] according to grace, so that the promise may be secure to all the descendants, not only to those of the law, but also to those of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all
And not being weak in faith, he considered his own body as good as dead, [because he] was approximately a hundred years old, and the deadness of Sarah's womb.
And he did not waver in unbelief at the promise of God, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God
Therefore, [because we] have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
through whom also we have [obtained] access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we boast in the hope of the glory of God.
What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, attained righteousness--even the righteousness [that is] by faith.
Why that? Because [they did] not [pursue it] by faith, but as [if] by works. They stumbled over the {stone that causes people to stumble},
But the righteousness from faith speaks like this: "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'" (that is, to bring Christ down),
But what does it say? "The word is near to you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim),
Consequently, faith [comes] by hearing, and hearing through the word about Christ.
Well said! They were broken off because of unbelief, but you stand firm because of faith. Do not think arrogant [thoughts], but be afraid.
For by the grace given to me I say to everyone who is among you not to think more highly of yourself than what one ought to think, but to think {sensibly}, as God has apportioned a measure of faith to each one.
but having different gifts according to the grace given to us: if [it is] prophecy, according to the proportion of [his] faith;
Now receive the one who is weak in faith, [but] not for quarrels about opinions.
The faith that you have, have with respect to yourself before God. Blessed [is] the one who does not pass judgment on himself by what he approves.
But the one who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not [do so] from faith, and everything that [is] not from faith is sin.
in order that your faith would not be in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,
And if I have [the gift of] prophecy and I know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so that [I can] remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
And now these three [things] remain: faith, hope, [and] love. But the greatest of these [is] love.
But if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching [is] in vain, and your faith [is] in vain.
But if Christ has not been raised, your faith [is] empty; you are still in your sins.
Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act courageously, be strong.
Not that we lord it over your faith, but we are fellow workers for your joy, because by faith you stand firm.
But [because we] have the same spirit of faith in accordance with [what is] written, "I believed, therefore I spoke," we also believe, therefore we also speak,
But just as you excel in everything--in faith and in speaking and in knowledge and with all diligence and in the love from us [that is] in you--so may you excel in this grace also.
not boasting {beyond limits} in the labors of others, but having hope [that as] your faith is growing to be enlarged greatly by you according to our assignment,
Test yourselves [to see] if you are in the faith. Examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize regarding yourselves that Jesus Christ [is] in you, unless you are unqualified?
