Hear ye another parable. A man was a landlord, who planted a vineyard, and placed a hedge around it, and dug a wine-trough in it, and built a tower, and gave it out to husbandmen, and went away. And when the time of the fruits drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, to receive his fruits; and the husbandmen taking his servants, beat one, and slew one, and stoned another. read more.
Again he sent other servants, more than the first: and they did unto them likewise. And afterward he sent to them his own son, saying, They will reverence my son. But the husbandmen, seeing the son, said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and take possession of his inheritance. And taking him, they cast him out of the vine-yard, and slew him. Then when the lord of the vine-yard may come, what will he do to those husbandmen? They say to Him, He will certainly destroy those wicked men, and give the vineyard to other husband-men, who will render to him the fruits in their seasons.

But the husbandmen, seeing the son, said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and take possession of his inheritance. They say to Him, He will certainly destroy those wicked men, and give the vineyard to other husband-men, who will render to him the fruits in their seasons.
And He began to speak to the people this parable, A man planted a vineyard and gave it out to husbandmen, and went away a long time. And in season he sent a servant to the husbandmen that they might give to him of the fruit of the vineyard, and the husbandmen beating him, sent him away empty. And he proceeded to send to them another servant, and they beating and dishonoring him sent him away empty. read more.
And he proceeded to send a third: and wounding him, they cast him out also. And the lord of the vineyard said, What shall I do? I will send my own beloved son: perchance seeing, they will reverence him. And the husbandmen, seeing him, reasoned among themselves saying, This is the heir; let us kill him, in order that the inheritance may be ours. And casting him out from the vineyard they slew him; what then will the lord of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy those husbandmen, and will give the vineyard to others. And hearing, they said, Let it not be so.
