And casting him out from the vineyard they slew him; what then will the lord of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy those husbandmen, and will give the vineyard to others. And hearing, they said, Let it not be so.
And he proceeded to send a third: and wounding him, they cast him out also. And the lord of the vineyard said, What shall I do? I will send my own beloved son: perchance seeing, they will reverence him. And the husbandmen, seeing him, reasoned among themselves saying, This is the heir; let us kill him, in order that the inheritance may be ours. And when the time of the fruits drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, to receive his fruits; and the husbandmen taking his servants, beat one, and slew one, and stoned another. read more.

But the husbandmen, seeing the son, said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and take possession of his inheritance. And taking him, they cast him out of the vine-yard, and slew him. Then when the lord of the vine-yard may come, what will he do to those husbandmen? They say to Him, He will certainly destroy those wicked men, and give the vineyard to other husband-men, who will render to him the fruits in their seasons. Jesus says, Have you not read in the Scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same has come to be the head of the corner: this was with the Lord, and is marvelous in our eyes? Therefore I say unto you, that the kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits of it.
