Thematic Bible: Restoring the withered hand

Thematic Bible

And he departed thence, and went into their synagogue. And behold, a man was there that had a withered hand. And they asked him, saying: Is it lawful to cure on the Sabbath-days? that they might accuse him. And he said to them: What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if this fall into a pit on the Sabbath-day, will he not lay hold on it and lift it out? read more.
How much better, then, is a man than a sheep! So it is lawful to do well on the Sabbath-days. Then he said to the man: Stretch forth your hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored to soundness, like the other.

And again he entered the synagogue, and a man was there who had a withered hand. And they watched him, whether he would cure him on the sabbath-day, that they might accuse him. And he said to the man who had the withered hand: Arise, and come into the midst. read more.
And he said to them: Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath-day, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they were silent. And looking around on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their heart, he said to the man: Stretch forth your hand; and he stretched it forth: and his hand was restored.

And the scribes and Pharisees watched closely, whether he would heal on the sabbath-day, that they might find an accusation against him. But he knew their thoughts; and he said to the man that had the withered hand: Rise, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose, and stood. read more.
Then Jesus said to them, I will ask you a question: Which is lawful on the sabbath, to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? And looking round upon them all, he said to him: Stretch forth your hand. And he did so; and his hand was restored like the other. But they were filled with madness, and began to consult with one another what they should do to Jesus.
