Jesus Christ » History of » Appears to the apostle john (on patmos island)
I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard a great voice behind me, as of a trumpet, saying, What you see, write in a book, and send it to the seven congregations; to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamos, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea. And I turned to see the voice which spoke to me, and being turned, I saw seven golden lamps; read more.
and, in the midst of the seven lamps, one like a Son of Man, clothed in a long robe, and girded about the breasts with a golden girdle. His head, even his hairs, were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; and his feet like fine brass, when glowing in a furnace; and his voice as the voice of many waters; and he had in his right hand seven stars, and out of his mouth there went a sharp two-edged sword; and his countenance was as the sun, when he shines in his strength. And when I saw him, I fell down at his feet, as dead; and he laid his right hand upon me, and said, Fear not; I am the First and the Last; I am he who lives and was dead; and behold, I am living for ever and ever; and I have the keys of the unseen world, and of death.

But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel; when he shall begin to sound, then the secret of God, as he had revealed its glad tidings to his servants the prophets, should be fulfilled.

After these things, I saw, and behold, a door opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as of a trumpet speaking to me; and it said, Come up hither, and I will show you what shall be hereafter.

And the fifth angel sounded; and I saw a Star fall from the heaven to the earth; and there was given to him the key of the bottomless pit. And he opened the bottomless pit, and smoke ascended from the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace: and the sun and the air were darkened by the smoke of the pit. And out of the smoke there came locusts upon the earth; and power was given to them, as scorpions of the earth have power. read more.
And it was said to them that they should not injure the grass of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree; but the men who had not the seal of God in their foreheads. And it was not given to them to kill them, but to torment them five months: and their torment was like that of a scorpion when it stings a man. And in these days men shall seek death, and shall not find it: and they shall desire to die, and death shall fly from them. And the resemblance of the locusts was like horses prepared for war; and on their heads were, as it were, crowns of gold; and their faces were like the faces of men: and they had tresses, like the tresses of women; and their teeth were like the teeth of lions. And they had breastplates like breastplates of iron; and the noise of their wings was like the noise of chariots, and many horses rushing to war. And they had tails like scorpions, and their stings were in their tails; and their power was to hurt men five months. For they had a king over them, the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name, in the Hebrew language, is Abaddon; and in the Greek, he has the name Apollyon. One woe is gone, and behold other two woes, besides it, yet coming. And the sixth angel sounded; and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which was before God, saying to the sixth angel, who had the trumpet, Loose the four angels who are bound by the great river Euphrates.

Vision » Of john on the island of patmos » Of Christ and the golden lampstands
I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard a great voice behind me, as of a trumpet, saying, What you see, write in a book, and send it to the seven congregations; to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamos, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.
