For this reason, as by one man sin entered into the world, and by his sin, death; and so death passed through to all men, because all have sinned:
and yet you know not what will take place to-morrow. For what is your life? Is it not, indeed, a vapor, that appears for a little while, and then vanishes away?
For if we live, we live to the Lord; or if we die, we die to the Lord. "Whether, therefore, we live or die, we are the Lord s.
And I heard a voice from heaven, saying: Write, Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord from this time. Yes, says the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors, and their works do follow them.
Thus spoke he; and after this he said to them: Our friend Lazarus sleeps; but I go that I may awake him out of sleep. Then his disciples said: Lord, if he sleeps, he will be saved. Jesus spoke of his death; but they thought that he spoke of taking rest in sleep.
And he went in and said to them: Why do you make a tumult and weep? The child is not dead, but sleeps.
For David, after serving the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep, and was laid with his fathers, and saw corruption.
after that, he was seen by more than five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain till this day; but some have fallen asleep.
For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we, the living, who remain till the coming of the Lord, shall not precede those who are asleep for the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God; and the dead in Christ shall arise first; then we, the living who remain, shall, together with them, be caught up in clouds into the air to meet the Lord, and so shall we be ever with the Lord.
Behold, I declare to you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet: For the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal "life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Jesus said to him: You have said. Moreover, I say to you, Hereafter you shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of the Almighty, and coming upon the clouds of heaven.
Jesus replied: I am. And you shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of the Almighty, and coming with the clouds of heaven.
And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
who also said: Men of Galilee, why stand you gazing up into heaven? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, shall come in the same manner in which you saw him go into heaven.
so the Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and to those who look for him he will appear the second time, without a sin-offering, in order to salvation.
But of that day and hour no one knows, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
But of that day or that hour no one knows: neither the angels who are in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father.
For this reason, be you also ready; for at an hour in which you think not, the Son of man comes.
Be you, therefore, ready also; for at an hour when you think not, the Son of man comes.
Behold, I come as a thief: blessed is he that watches, and keeps his garments, that he may not walk naked, and that men may not see his nakedness.
For the Son of man will come in the glory of his Father, with his angels; and then he will reward every one according to his deeds.
When the Son of man shall come in his own glory, and all the holy angels with him, then will he sit on the throne of his own glory; and all nations shall be gathered before him; and he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates his sheep from the goats.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you with myself, that where I am, you may be also.
So, then, judge nothing be fore the time, till the Lord comes, who will bring to light the secret works of darkness, and will also make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall each have his praise from God.
for the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God; and the dead in Christ shall arise first; then we, the living who remain, shall, together with them, be caught up in clouds into the air to meet the Lord, and so shall we be ever with the Lord.
And when the chief shepherd shall appear, you shall receive the crown of glory that fades not away.
Beloved, now are we the children of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
And now, little children, abide in him, that when he appears, we may have confidence, and may not be made ashamed by him at his coming.
watch you therefore; for you know not when the master of the house comes, whether at evening, or at midnight, or at the crowing of the cock, or in the morning;
Repent, therefore, and turn, in order that your sins may be blotted out, so that seasons of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send Jesus Christ, who was destined for you;
I charge you, in the sight of God, who makes all things alive, and before Christ Jesus, who, before Pontius Pilate, confessed a good confession, that you keep this commandment, so that you may be spotless and blameless till the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Seeing, then, that all these things shall be dissolved, what sort of persons ought you to be in all holy behavior, and godliness,
Be not astonished at this; for the hour is coming in which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth; those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.
having hope in God, which they themselves also admit, that I there will be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and of the unjust.
For this is the will of him that sent me, that every one who sees the Son, and believes on him, may have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
Jesus said to her: I am the resurrection, and the life; he that believes on me, though he were dead, yet shall he live;
knowing that he who raised up the Lord Jesus will raise us up also by Jesus, and present us together with you.
for the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God; and the dead in Christ shall arise first;
and shall come forth; those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.
And these shall go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.
So, also, is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption: it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power: it is sown an animal body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is an animal body, and there is a spiritual body.
But this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood can not inherit the kingdom of God, nor does corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I declare to you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet: For the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.read more.
For this corruptible body must put on incorruptibility; and this mortal body must put on immortality.
And, as it is appointed to men once to die, and after this the judgment,
These shall give an account to him that is ready to judge the living and the dead.
And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat upon it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before the throne; and the books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of the things that were written in the books, according to their works.
For the Father judges no one, but has given all judicial authority to the Son;
And he commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that this is he who has been appointed by God as the judge of the living and the dead.
because he has appointed a day in which he will judge the world, in righteousness, by the man whom he has chosen, giving to all assurance of this, by having raised him from the dead.
and I am he that lives; and I was dead, and be hold, I am alive from age to age: and I have the keys of hades and of death.
He that rejects me, and receives not my words, has that which judges him: the word which I have spoken, that shall judge him in the last day.
and to you that are afflicted, rest with us, at the revelation of our Lord Jesus from heaven with his mighty angels, in flaming fire, to take vengeance on those who know not God, and who obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ;
But the heavens and the earth that now are, by the same word are kept in store, reserved for fire against the day of judgment, and perdition of ungodly men.
And if any one was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
Verily, verily I say to you, He that hears my word, and believes on him that sent me, has eternal life, and comes not into condemnation, but has passed from death into life.
He that believes on him is not condemned; but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God.
There is now, therefore, no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has freed me from the law of sin, and of death.
For we must all appear before the judgment-seat of Christ, that each may receive his reward for the things done in his body, according to what he has done, whether good or evil.
