The city is laid out as a square, and its length is as great as the width; and he measured the city with the rod, twelve thousand stadia; its length and width and height are equal. He also measured its wall, a hundred and forty-four cubits by a man's measure, which is also an angel's. The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as clear as glass. The foundations of the city wall were adorned with every kind of precious stone.
