How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the showbread, which is not lawful to eat except for the priests, and gave also to them who were with him?

And Jesus answering them said, Have you not read so much as this, what David did, when he was hungry, and they who were with him; How he went into the house of God, and did take and eat the showbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat, but for the priests alone?

And you shall make its dishes, and its spoons, and its covers, and its bowls for pouring: of pure gold shall you make them. And you shall set upon the table showbread before me always.

You shall also make a table of acacia wood: two cubits shall be the length of it, and a cubit the breadth of it, and a cubit and a half the height of it. And you shall overlay it with pure gold, and make for it a molding of gold round about. And you shall make unto it a border of a handbreadth round about, and you shall make a golden molding in the border of it round about. read more.
And you shall make for it four rings of gold, and put the rings in the four corners that are at its four legs. Close to the border shall the rings be for places for the poles to bear the table. And you shall make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold, that the table may be borne with them.

And he made the table of acacia wood: two cubits was the length of it, and a cubit the breadth of it, and a cubit and a half the height of it: And he overlaid it with pure gold, and made for it a molding of gold round about. And he cast for it four rings of gold, and put the rings upon the four corners that were in the four legs of it. Close to the border were the rings, the places for the poles to bear the table. And he made the poles of acacia wood, and overlaid them with gold, to bear the table.

And he put the table in the tent of the congregation, upon the north side of the tabernacle, outside the veil. And he set the bread in order upon it before the LORD; as the LORD had commanded Moses.

Also we made ordinances for us, to charge ourselves yearly with the third part of a shekel for the service of the house of our God; For the showbread, and for the continual grain offering, and for the continual burnt offering, of the sabbaths, of the new moons, for the set feasts, and for the holy things, and for the sin offerings to make an atonement for Israel, and for all the work of the house of our God.

And you shall take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes of it: two- tenth of an ephah shall be in one cake. And you shall set them in two rows, six on a row, upon the pure gold table before the LORD. And you shall put pure frankincense upon each row, that it may be on the bread for a memorial, even an offering made by fire unto the LORD. read more.
Every sabbath he shall set it in order before the LORD continually, being taken from the children of Israel by an everlasting covenant. And it shall be Aaron's and his sons'; and they shall eat it in the holy place: for it is most holy unto him of the offerings of the LORD made by fire, a perpetual statute.

And when Aaron and his sons have made an end of covering the sanctuary, as the camp is to move forward; after that, the sons of Kohath shall come to bear it: but they shall not touch any holy thing, lest they die.
