And a woman who had been in a flux twelve years, and had suffered a great deal from many physicians, and spent all that she had, and received no benefit, but rather grew worse, when she heard of Jesus, came behind Him in the croud, and touched his garment; for she said, If I can but touch his clothes, I shall be cured. And He cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth a tumult, people weeping and lamenting greatly: and when He was come in, He saith unto them, Why do ye take on thus and weep? the child is not dead, but asleep. And they laughed at Him: but when He had turned them all out, He taketh the father, and the mother of the child, and those three that were with Him, and goes in where the child was laid: and taking hold of her hand, He saith unto her, Talitha, cumi, which is, being interpreted, Damsel, (I say unto thee) arise: and immediately the damsel rose up and walked; for she was twelve years old; and they were struck with great astonishment.

But Jesus hearing it, answered saying, Fear not, only believe, and she shall be recovered. And when He came to the house, He suffered none to go in but Peter, and James, and John, and the father and mother of the child. And they were all weeping and bewailing her: but He said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed at Him, knowing that she was dead. But He turned them all out, and taking hold of her hand, called to her, saying, Child, arise. And her spirit returned, and immediately she stood up: and He ordered something to be given her to eat.

And He came up and touched the bier, (and the bearers stopped,) and He said, Young man, I say unto thee, arise.

And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid. But Jesus came and touched them and said, Rise up and be not afraid.

And they brought to Him little children that He might touch them: and the disciples rebuked those that brought them.

Then were brought to Him little children, that He might put his hands upon them, and bless them: and the disciples rebuked them;

And they brought to Him infants also, that He might touch them: and his disciples seeing it rebuked them.

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have contemplated, and our very hands have felt concerning the Word of life,

But Thomas called Didymus, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples therefore told him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I see in his hands the mark of the nails, and put my finger into the place of the nails, and my hand into his side, I will not believe. And after eight days his disciples were again within, and Thomas with them: and Jesus came (the doors being shut as before) and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be to you.read more.
Then saith He to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands, and reach hither thy hand, and put it into my side; and be not incredulous, but believing.
