And he called the twelve, and sent them out two and two, and gave them power over impure spirits;

AND calling together the twelve, he gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases, and sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God, and to cure the sick.
They therefore having come together asked him, saying, Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom of Israel? Behold, I give you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and on all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means injure you; read more.

He came to his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become sons of God, to them that believe on his name, who are born not of superior blood, nor of a will of the flesh, nor of a will of man, but of God.
