Resurrection » The resurrected
And there come to Him the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection; and they were asking Him, saying, "Teacher, Moses wrote to us, 'If any man's brother die, and leave a wife behind, and leave no child, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed to his brother.' There were seven brothers; and the first took a wife; and, dying, left no seed. read more.
And the second took her, and died, leaving no seed; and the third likewise. And the seven left no seed. Last of all the woman also died. In the resurrection whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her as a wife." Jesus said to them, "Is it not on this account that ye err, because ye know not the Scriptures, nor the power of God? For, when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels in Heaven. But, concerning the dead, that they are raised, did ye not read in the book of Moses, at the 'Bush,' how God spake to him, saying, 'I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?' He is not the God of the dead, but of the living: ye do greatly err."
And the second took her, and died, leaving no seed; and the third likewise. And the seven left no seed. Last of all the woman also died. In the resurrection whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her as a wife." On that day there came to Him Sadducees, those saying there is no resurrection, and questioned Him, saying, "Teacher, Moses said, 'If any one die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed to his brother.' Now there were with us seven brothers; and the first, marrying, died; and, not having seed, he left his wife to his brother. read more.
Likewise also the second, and the third, unto the seventh. And after them all, the woman died. In the resurrection, therefore, whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her." But Jesus, answering, said to them, "Ye deceive yourselves, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God; for in the resurrection, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as angels in Heaven. "But concerning the resurrection of the dead, did ye not read that which was spoken to you by God, saying, 'I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?' He is not the God of the dead, but of the living."
Likewise also the second, and the third, unto the seventh. And after them all, the woman died. In the resurrection, therefore, whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her." And some of the Sadducees, who say that there is no resurrection, coming near, asked Him, saying, "Teacher, Moses wrote for us, 'If any one's brother die, having a wife, and he be childless, that his brother should take the wife, and raise up seed to his brother.' There were, therefore, seven brothers; and the first, taking a wife, died childless. read more.
And the second, and the third, took her; and, in like manner also, the seven left no children, and died. At last the woman also died. In the resurrection, therefore, whose wife of them does the woman become? for the seven had her as wife." And Jesus said to them, "The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage; but those accounted worthy to obtain that age, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage; for neither can they die any more; for they are equal to the angels, and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection. But that the dead are raised, even Moses showed at the 'Bush,' when he calls the Lord 'The God of Abraham the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.' Now He is not a God of the dead, but of the living; for all live to him."
And the second, and the third, took her; and, in like manner also, the seven left no children, and died. At last the woman also died. If, therefore, ye were raised up with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God. Keep thinking of the things above, not of the things on the earth, for ye died, and your life has been hid with Christ in God.
