Then every one who hears these words of mine, and does them, I will liken him unto a wise man, who built his house upon the rock. And the rain came down, and the rivers came, and the winds blew, and fell against that house; and it did not fall; for it was founded upon the rock. And every one hearing these words of mine, and doing them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand. read more.
And the rain came down, and the rivers came, and the winds blew, and beat against that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Every one coming to me, and hearing my words, and doing the same, I will show you to whom he is like. He is like unto a man building a house, who dug and went down deep, and laid the foundation upon the rock: and there being a flood, the river broke against that house, and it was not able to shake it; for it was founded on the rock. But the one hearing and not doing, is like unto a man building his house upon the ground without a foundation; against which the river broke, and it fell immediately, and great was the fall of that house.
