I will arise and go to my father, and I will say to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son: make me as one of your hired servants. And he arose, and came to his father. And while he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion on him, and ran and fell upon his neck, and kissed him.
Sufficient for such a one is the punishment, which was inflicted by the greater number: so that, on the other hand, you should rather forgive and comfort him, lest such a one should be swallowed up in too much sorrow. Wherefore, I exhort you to give him an assurance of your love.
