And to man he said, Behold, the fear of LORD, that is wisdom, and to depart from evil is understanding.

I, wisdom, have made prudence my dwelling, and find out knowledge [and] discretion. The fear of LORD is to hate evil. Pride, and arrogance, and the evil way, and the perverse mouth, do I hate. Counsel is mine, and sound knowledge. I am understanding, I have might.
Behold, I have taught you statutes and ordinances, even as LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the midst of the land where ye go in to possess it. Keep therefore and do them, for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples, who shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.
