Thou who are of purer eyes than to behold evil, and who cannot look on perverseness, why do thou look upon those who deal treacherously, and hold thy peace when the wicked man swallows up the man who is more righteous than he,
Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard. I cry for help, but there is no justice.
Why are times not laid up by the Almighty? And why do those who know him not see his days?
For, lo, they lay in wait for my soul. The mighty gather themselves together against me, not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O LORD. They run and prepare themselves without [my] fault. Awake thou to help me, and behold.
O God, why have thou cast off forever? Why does thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?
cast off among the dead, like the slain who lie in the grave, whom thou remember no more, and they are cut off from thy hand.
Remember, I pray thee, who [ever] perished, being innocent? Or where were the upright cut off?
And his disciples asked him, saying, Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he would be born blind? Jesus answered, Neither this man sinned, nor his parents, but that the works of God might be manifested in him.
Yet ye say, The way of LORD is not equitable. Hear now, O house of Israel. Is not my way equitable? Are not your ways inequitable?
Then his wife said to him, Do thou still hold fast thine integrity? Renounce God, and die. But he said to her, Thou speak as one of the foolish women speaks. What? Shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this Job did not sin with his lips.
But he is in one [mind], and who can turn him? And what his soul desires, even that he does. For he performs that which is appointed for me. And many such things are with him. Therefore I am terrified at his presence. When I consider, I am afraid of him.
For I was envious of the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
Surely in vain I have cleansed my heart, and washed my hands in innocence,
And he said, Naked I came out of my mother's womb, and naked I shall return there. LORD gave, and LORD has taken away, blessed be the name of LORD.
And to man he said, Behold, the fear of LORD, that is wisdom, and to depart from evil is understanding.
Yea, certainly God will not do wrong. Neither will the Almighty pervert justice.
Behold, God is great, and we do not know him. The number of his years is unsearchable.
And be not afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. But rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay a righteous man with a wicked man, that so the righteous man should be as the wicked man. Far be it from thee. Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?
(Cast thy burden upon LORD, and he will sustain thee. He will never allow the righteous man to be moved.) But thou, O God, will bring them down into the pit of destruction. Bloodthirsty and deceitful men shall not live out half their days, but I will trust in thee.
And it came to pass in the course of those many days, that the king of Egypt died. And the sons of Israel sighed because of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up to God because of the bondage.
What time I am afraid, I will put my trust in thee. In God I will praise his word. In God I have put my trust. I will not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?
But I will sing of thy strength. Yea, I will sing aloud of thy loving kindness in the morning. For thou have been my high tower, and a refuge in the day of my distress.
My soul, wait thou in silence for God only, for my expectation is from him.
Let them be put to shame and confounded who seek after my soul. Let them be turned backward and brought to dishonor who delight in my hurt.
Then they cried to LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.
If it be [so], our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thy hand, O king. But if not, be it known to thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou have set up.
For though the fig tree shall not flourish, nor shall fruit be in the vines, the labor of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no food. The flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls. Yet I will rejoice in LORD. I will joy in the God of my salvation.
Who, being reviled, did not revile in return. Suffering, he did not threaten, but yielded to him who judges righteously.
Therefore also let those who suffer according to the will of God entrust their souls as to a faithful Creator by well-doing.
For he who makes inquiry for blood remembers them. He does not forget the cry of the poor.
For LORD saw the affliction of Israel, that it was very bitter, for there was none shut up nor left at large, neither was there any helper for Israel.
For LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked shall perish.
Behold, the eye of LORD is upon those who fear him, upon those who hope in his loving kindness, to deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
Behold the wage of the workmen who reaped your fields. The man who was defrauded by you cries out. And the outcries of those who reaped have entered into the ears of Lord of hosts.
LORD tries the righteous man, but his soul hates the wicked man and him who loves violence.
But thou, O LORD, will laugh at them. Thou will have all the nations in derision.
Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and say to the mountains and to the hills, to the watercourses and to the valleys, Thus says lord LORD: Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my wrath, because ye have borne t Therefore thus says lord LORD: I have sworn, [saying], Surely the nations that are round about you, they shall bear their shame.
Woe to him who gets an evil gain for his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the hand of evil!
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but LORD delivers him out of them all.
And LORD turned [back] the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends. And LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before. Then there came to him all his brothers, and all his sisters, and all those who had been of his acquaintance before, and ate bread with him in his house. And they bemoaned him, and comforted him concerning all the evil that LORD ha So LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning. They will hunger no more, nor will they thirst any more. The sun will, no, not fall upon them, nor any heat.
And he will wipe away every tear from their eyes. And there will not be any more death, nor grief, nor crying, nor will there be any more anguish, because the former things are gone.

And I know that the king of Egypt will not give you leave to go, no, not by a mighty hand. And I will put forth my hand, and smite Egypt with all my wonders which I will do in the midst of it, and after that he will let you go.
When I thought how I might understand this, it was too painful for me, until I went into the sanctuary of God, and considered their latter end. Surely thou set them in slippery places. Thou cast them down to destruction.
Thus says LORD: For three transgressions of Damascus, yea, for four, I will not turn away the punishment of it, because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron.
Woe to the bloody city! It is all full of lies and rapine. The prey departs not.
Thou are filled with shame, and not glory. Drink thou also, and be as one uncircumcised. The cup of LORD's right hand shall come around to thee, and foul shame shall be upon thy glory.
Then he will also say to those at the left hand, Depart from me, ye accursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his agents. For I was hungry, and ye did not give me to eat, I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink, I was a stranger, and ye did not take me in, naked, and ye did not clothe me, weak, and in prison, and ye did not come to help me.read more.
Then they will also answer, saying, Lord, when did we see thee hungering, or thirsting, or a stranger, or naked, or weak, or in prison, and did not serve thee? Then he will answer them, saying, Truly I say to you, inasmuch as ye did it not to one of these least, ye did it not to me. And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.
For the judgment is merciless to him who did no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
And if the righteous man is scarcely saved, where will the irreverent and sinful man appear?
Render to her as she also rendered to you, and double to her two-fold according to her works. In the cup that she mixed, mix two-fold for her. In an amount she glorified herself and lived wantonly, give her so much torment and grief, because she says in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and will, no, not see grief.
