So you are no longer foreigners or strangers, but you are fellow-citizens of God's people and members of his family. You are built upon the apostles and prophets as your foundation, and Christ Jesus himself is the cornerstone.
The wall of the city had twelve foundation stones, and on them were the twelve names of the Lamb's twelve apostles.

A city that is built upon a hill cannot be hidden. People do not light a lamp and put it under a peck-measure; they put it on its stand and it gives light to everyone in the house. Your light must burn in that way among men so that they will see the good you do, and praise your Father in heaven.
