But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead:

Take you heed everyone of his neighbor, and trust you not in any brother: for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbor will walk with slanders. And they will deceive everyone his neighbor, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.
Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.
