Jehovah is my strength and my shield. My heart trusted him, so I received help. My heart is triumphant and I thank him with my song. Jehovah is the strength of his people and a fortress for the victory of his anointed.
As the mountains are all around Jerusalem, so Jehovah is all around his people from this time and forever.
For Jehovah God is a sun and shield. Jehovah will give favor and honor. He will not withhold blessing from those who walk faithfully in truth.
Every word of God is pure. He is a shield to those who trust him.
You bless the righteous man, O Jehovah. You surround him with favor as with a shield.
Jehovah kills and makes alive. He brings down to the grave and brings up. Jehovah takes away and He gives riches. He brings low and lifts up high. He raises the poor from the dust. God's way is perfect! The word of Jehovah has proven to be true. He is a shield to all those who take refuge in him.
Jehovah gives wisdom. From his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He stores up insightful (sound) (substantial) wisdom for the upright. He is a shield for those who walk in integrity.
