Thematic Bible: Who to love

You have heard that it was said: You shall love your neighbor, and hate your enemy. But I say to you, Love your enemies: bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who insult you and persecute you: that you may be the sons of your Father who is in heaven; for he makes his sun to rise upon the evil and the good, and causes it to rain on the just and on the unjust. read more.
For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the publicans the same? And if you salute your brethren only, in what do you excel? Do not even the publicans so? Be you therefore perfect, as your Father who is in heaven is perfect.

But I say to you that hear: Love your enemies; do good to them that hate you; bless them that curse you; pray for them that abuse you. To him that strikes you on one cheek, offer also the other; and from him that takes away your mantle, withhold not your coat. read more.
Give to every one that asks of you; and of him that takes away your goods, ask them not again. And as you would that men should do to you, do you also in like manner to them. And if you love them that love you, what thanks have you? for even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to them that do good to you, what thanks have you? for even sinners do the same. And if you lend to them from whom you hope to receive, what thanks have you? for even sinners lend to sinners, that they may receive the same. But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward shall be great, and you shall be sons of the Most High: for he is kind to the unthankful and the evil.
