He who loves wisdom makes his father rejoice. But he who keeps company with fornicators wastes his wealth.
A wise son makes a father glad: but a foolish son is sorrow (depression) (grief) for his mother.
A wise son heeds his father's instruction (discipline). A scoffer does not listen to discipline (reproof).
A wise son makes a father glad. A foolish man despises his mother.
Better is a poor and a wise child than an old and foolish king who will no longer take advise. He comes out of prison to rule as king. He that is born in his kingdom becomes poor.
