Judah came along. He did not recognize her because of the veil. He thought she was a prostitute, and asked her to sleep with him. She asked: What will you give me if I do?

Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly. He said: Go view the land of Jericho. They went to a prostitute named Rahab, and stayed at her house.

They cast lots for my people, and traded a boy for a prostitute, and sold a girl for wine, that they may drink.

When a priest's daughter dishonors herself by becoming a prostitute, she dishonors her father. She must be burned.

One day two women who were prostitutes came to the king.

Jehovah asked: Why should I forgive the sins of my people? They have abandoned me and have worshiped gods that are not real. I fed my people until they were full, but they committed adultery and spent their time with prostitutes.

They sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains! They burn incense upon the hills, under oaks and poplars (storax) and the strong tree, because it has good shade. Your daughters play the harlot, and your brides commit adultery. I will not punish your daughters when they play the harlot, nor your brides when they commit adultery. The men go out with harlots, and they sacrifice with the prostitutes. The people that do not understand will fall (be overthrown).

I have seen a horrible thing in the house of Israel. There Ephraim is given to prostitution and Israel is defiled.

All her images will be broken to pieces! All that she has earned will be burned with fire. I will destroy all her idols. She gathered them for the price of a prostitute and for the price of a prostitute they will return.

Do not lust after her beauty in your heart. Do not let her attract you with her eyelids. A prostitute will cost you your last crust of bread. An adulteress will cost you your life. Can a man have fire in his lap and his clothes not be burned?

By faith Rahab the harlot did not perish with the disobedient, after she welcomed the spies in peace.

Rahab the harlot was justified by her works. When she received the messengers she sent them out another way.

Joshua said to the two men that had spied out the country: Go into the harlot's house, and bring the woman out as you swore to her. The young men who were spies went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, mother, and her brothers and all that she had. They brought out all her relatives and left them outside the camp of Israel. They burned the city and all its contents. They put the silver, gold, and the vessels of brass and of iron into the treasury of the house of Jehovah.read more.
Joshua saved Rahab the harlot alive, and her father's household, and all that she had. She dwells in Israel even to this day because she hid the messengers Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.

One of the seven angels who had one of the seven bowls spoke to me. This is because of Nineveh's constant prostitution, this very charming mistress of evil magic. She used to sell nations by her prostitution and people by her evil magic.

Jehovah said to Moses: You are about to lie down with your fathers in death. This people will arise and play the harlot with the strange gods of the land. They will plunge into the midst of it. They will forsake me and break my covenant that I made with them.

Otherwise you might make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land. They would commit spiritual immorality (fornication) with their gods and sacrifice to their gods. Someone might invite you to eat of his sacrifice. You might take some of his daughters for your sons, and his daughters might commit spiritual immorality (fornication) with their gods and cause your sons also to commit spiritual immorality with their gods.

I will condemn them and their families. I will exclude them from the people. I will exclude from the people everyone who chases after Molech as if he were a prostitute.

Yet they would not listen to their judges, but prostituted themselves to other gods. They worshiped them. They turned quickly, out of the way in which their fathers walked obeying the commandments of Jehovah.

Gideon made an idol from the gold and placed it in his hometown, Ophrah. The Israelites abandoned God and went there to worship the idol. It was a trap for Gideon and his family.

But they were unfaithful to the God of their fathers and prostituted themselves to the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God had destroyed before them.

They became filthy because of what they did. They behaved like prostitutes.

How the faithful town has become a prostitute! She was full of justice, and righteousness lived in her. But now murderers live there!

You took some of your clothes and made your worship sites colorful. This is where you acted like a prostitute. Such things should not happen. They should not occur. When she saw them she lusted after them and sent messengers to them in Chaldea. The Babylonians came to her, to the bed of love, and defiled her with their acts of prostitution. When they had defiled her, she became disgusted with them. She uncovered her acts if prostitution and uncovered her nakedness. I became disgusted with her, as I had become disgusted with her sister. Yet she multiplied her acts of prostitution. She remembered the days of her youth, when she prostituted herself in the land of Egypt. She lusted after their paramours, whose flesh is like the flesh of donkeys and whose genital organ is like the genital organ of horses. Thus you longed for the lewdness of your youth, when the Egyptians handled your bosom because of the breasts of your youth. Therefore, O Oholibah, the Lord Jehovah says: 'Behold I will arouse your lovers against you, from whom you were alienated. I will bring them against you from every side: the Babylonians and all the Chaldeans, Pekod and Shoa and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them, desirable young men, governors and officials all of them, officers and men of renown, all of them riding on horses. They will come against you with weapons, chariots and wagons, and with a company of peoples. They will set themselves against you on every side with buckler and shield and helmet. I will commit the judgment to them, and they will judge you according to their customs. I will set my jealousy against you, that they may deal with you in wrath. They will remove your nose and your ears. Your survivors will fall by the sword. They will take your sons and your daughters. The fire will consume your survivors. They will also strip you of your clothes and take away your beautiful jewels. I will make your lewdness and your fornication brought from the land of Egypt to cease from you, so that you will not lift up your eyes to them or remember Egypt anymore.' The Lord Jehovah says: 'Behold, I will give you into the hand of those whom you hate, into the hand of those from whom you were alienated. They will deal with you in hatred, take all your property, and leave you naked and bare. And the nakedness of your fornications will be uncovered, both your lewdness and your acts of prostitution. These things will be done to you because you have played the prostitute with the nations, because you have defiled yourself with their idols. You have walked in the way of your sister. Therefore I will give her cup into your hand. The Lord Jehovah says this: 'You will drink your sister's cup, which is deep and wide. You will be laughed at and held in derision; it contains much. You will be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, the cup of horror and desolation, the cup of your sister Samaria. You will drink it and drain it. Then you will gnaw its fragments and tear your breasts. I have spoken, declares the Lord Jehovah.' Therefore, the Lord Jehovah says: 'Because you have forgotten me and cast me behind your back, bear now the punishment of your lewdness and your acts of prostitution.'

They will eat, and not have enough! They will play the harlot, and will not increase! They do not listen to Jehovah. Prostitution, wine and new wine take away the understanding. My people ask counsel at their stock, and their staff declares to them; for the spirit of adultery caused them to go astray. They have played the harlot, departing from their God.

They will not consecrate their deeds to their God because the spirit of fornication is in them. They do not know Jehovah.
