But when the chief priests and the officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify, crucify him. Pilate saith to them, Take ye him and crucify him; for I find no fault in him.
And when he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing. Then said Pilate to him, Hearest thou not, how many things they witness against thee? And he answered him to never a word, so that the governour marvelled greatly.
And a superscription also was written over him in Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew letters, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
And Pilate wrote an inscription also, and put it on the cross: and the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS. Many of the Jews read this inscription; for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin. Then said the chief priests to Pilate, Write not, the king of the Jews; but that he said, I am the king of the Jews.read more.
Pilate answered, What I have written, I have written.
And he answering him said, Thou sayest. Then said Pilate to the chief priests and the multitude, I find no fault in this man.
Pilate therefore went out to them, and said, What accusation do ye bring against this man?
Pilate went out again, and saith to them, Lo, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know, I find no fault in him.
