The sorrows of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my troubles. Look upon my adversity and misery, and forgive me all my sin. I sought the LORD, and he heard me; yea, he delivered me out of all my fear. They had an eye unto him, and were lightened; and their faces were not ashamed. Lo, the poor crieth, and the LORD heareth him, yea, and saveth him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD pitcheth his tent round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. O taste and see how friendly the LORD is; blessed is the man that trusteth in him. O fear the LORD, ye that are his saints: for they that fear him lack nothing. The lions do lack, and suffer hunger; but they who seek the LORD shall want no manner of thing that is good. Come, ye children, and hearken unto me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. What man is he that lusteth to live, and would fain see good days? Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips, that they speak no guile. Eschew evil, and do good; seek peace, and ensue it. For the eyes of the LORD are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers. But the face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to root out the remembrance of them from the earth. The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth them, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The LORD is nigh unto them that are contrite in heart, and will save such as be of a humble spirit. Great are the troubles of the righteous, but the LORD delivereth him out of all. He keepeth all his bones, so that not one of them is broken. But misfortune shall slay the ungodly; and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate. The LORD delivereth the souls of his servants, and all they that put their trust in him shall not be destitute.

Delight thou in the LORD, and he shall give thee thy heart's desire. Commit thy way unto the LORD, set thy hope in him, and he shall bring it to pass. He shall make thy righteousness as clear as the light, and thy just dealing as the noonday. Hold thee still in the LORD, and abide patiently upon him: but grieve not thyself at one that hath prosperity, and liveth in abomination. Leave off from wrath, and let go displeasure; let not thy jealousy move thee also to do evil. For wicked doers shall be rooted out; but they that patiently abide the LORD, shall inherit the land. Suffer yet a little while, and the ungodly shall be clean gone; thou shalt look after his place, and he shall be away. But the meek spirited shall possess the earth, and shall be refreshed in the multitude of peace. The ungodly layeth wait for the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth. But the LORD laugheth him to scorn, for he seeth that his day is coming. The ungodly have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the simple and poor, and to slay such as are of a right conversation. Their sword shall go through their own heart, and their bow shall be broken. A small thing that the righteous hath, is better than the great riches of the ungodly. For the arms of the ungodly shall be broken, and the LORD upholdeth the righteous. The LORD knoweth the days of the godly, and their inheritance shall endure forever. They shall not be confounded in the perilous time; and in the days of dearth they shall have enough. As for the ungodly, they shall perish. and the enemies of the LORD shall consume as the fat of lambs; yea, even as the smoke shall they consume away. The ungodly borroweth, and payeth not again, but the righteous is merciful and liberal. Such as are blessed of God shall possess the land; and they that are cursed of him shall be rooted out. The LORD ordereth a good man's going, and hath pleasure in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be hurt, for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand. I have been young, and now am old; and yet saw I never the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging their bread. The righteous is ever merciful, and lendeth gently; therefore shall his seed be blessed. Flee from evil, and do the thing that is good, and dwell for evermore. For the LORD loveth the thing that is right; he forsaketh not his saints, but they are preserved forever. The unrighteous shall be punished; as for the seed of the ungodly, it shall be rooted out. The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein forever. The mouth of the righteous is exercised in wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment. The law of his God is in his heart; therefore shall not his footsteps slide. The ungodly watcheth the righteous, and seeketh occasion to slay him. But the LORD will not leave him in his hands, nor condemn him when he is judged. Hope thou in the LORD, and keep his way. And he shall promote thee, that thou shalt possess the land; when the ungodly shall perish, thou shalt see it. I myself have seen the ungodly in great power, and flourishing like a green bay-tree. But when I went by, lo, he was gone; I sought him, but his place could nowhere be found. Keep innocency, and take heed unto the thing that is right; for that shall bring a man peace at the last. As for the transgressors, they shall perish together; and the ungodly shall be rooted out at the last. But the salvation of the righteous cometh of the LORD, who is also their strength in the time of trouble. And the LORD shall stand by them, and save them; he shall deliver them from the ungodly, and shall save them, because they put their trust in him.

Thou hast given straight charge to keep thy commandments: O that my ways were made so direct, that I might keep thy statutes! So shall I not be confounded, while I have respect unto all thy commandments. I will thank thee with an unfeigned heart, because I am learned in the judgments of thy righteousness. For I remember thine everlasting judgments, O LORD, and am comforted. I am horribly afraid for the ungodly that forsake thy law. Thy statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage. The earth, O LORD, is full of thy mercy; O teach me thy statutes. {Tet} O LORD, thou hast dealt graciously with thy servant, according unto thy word. O learn me thy kindness, nurture and knowledge, for I believe thy commandments. Before I was troubled, I went wrong, but now I keep thy word. Thou art good and friendly; O teach me thy statutes. The proud imagine lies upon me, but I keep thy commandments with my whole heart. Their heart is as fat as brawn, but my delight hath been in thy law. It is good for me that I have been in trouble, that I may learn thy statutes. Let the proud be confounded, for they go wickedly about to destroy me; but I will be occupied in thy commandments. But let such as fear thee, and know thy testimonies, be turned unto me. O let my heart be sound in thy statutes, that I be not ashamed. {Khaf} My soul longeth for thy salvation, for my good hope is in thy word. Mine eyes long sore for thy word, saying, "O when wilt thou comfort me?" For I am become like a bottle in the smoke; yet do not I forget thy statutes. How many are the days of thy servant? When wilt thou be avenged of mine adversaries? The proud have digged pits for me, which are not after thy law. All thy commandments are true. They persecute me falsely; O be thou my help. They have almost made an end of me upon earth, but I forsake not thy commandments. O quicken me after thy loving-kindness; and so shall I keep the testimonies of thy mouth. {Lamed} O LORD, thy word endureth forever in heaven. Thy truth also remaineth from one generation to another; thou hast laid the foundation of the earth, and it abideth. They continue this day according to thine ordinance; for all things serve thee. If my delight were not in thy law, I should perish in my trouble. I will never forget thy commandments, for with them thou quickenest me. I am thine; O save me, for I seek thy commandments. The ungodly lay wait for me to destroy me, but I consider thy testimonies. I see that all things come to an end, but thy commandment is exceeding broad. {Mem} O LORD, what love have I unto thy law! All the day long is my study in it. Thou, through thy commandments, hast made me wiser than mine enemies; for they are ever with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers; for thy testimonies are my study. Yea, I am wiser than the aged, for I keep thy commandments. I refrain my feet from every evil way, that I may keep thy words. I shrink not from thy judgments, for thou teachest me. O how sweet are thy words unto my throat! Yea, sweeter than honey unto my mouth! Through thy commandments I get understanding; therefore I hate all false ways. {Nun} Thy word is a lantern unto my feet and a light unto my paths. I have sworn, and am steadfastly purposed, to keep thy righteous judgments. I am troubled above measure; quicken me, O LORD, according unto thy word. Let the freewill offerings of my mouth please thee, O LORD, and teach me thy judgments. My soul is always in my hand, yet do I not forget thy law. The ungodly have laid a snare for me; but yet swerve I not from thy commandments. Thy testimonies have I claimed as my heritage forever; and why? They are the very joy of my heart. I apply my heart to fulfill thy statutes always, even unto the end. {Samekh} I hate them that imagine evil things; but thy law do I love. Thou art my defense and shield; and my trust is in thy word. Be thou surety for thy servant to do him good, that the proud do me no wrong. Mine eyes are wasted away with looking for thy health, and for the word of thy righteousness. O deal with thy servant according unto thy loving mercy, and teach me thy statutes. I am thy servant; O grant me understanding, that I may know thy testimonies. It is time for thee, O LORD, to lay to thine hand; for they have destroyed thy law. For I love thy commandments above gold and precious stone. Therefore hold I straight all thy commandments; and all false ways I utterly abhor. {Pe} Thy testimonies are wonderful; therefore doth my soul keep them. I am as glad of thy word, as one that findeth great spoils. As for lies, I hate and abhor them; but thy law do I love. Seven times a day do I praise thee, because of thy righteous judgments. Great is the peace that they have which love thy law, and they are not offended at it. LORD, I look for thy saving health, and do after thy commandments. My soul keepeth thy testimonies, and loveth them exceedingly. I keep thy commandments and testimonies; for all my ways are before thee. {Tav} Let my complaint come before thee, O LORD; give me understanding, according unto thy word. {A Praise of David} I will magnify thee, O God my king; I will praise thy name for ever and ever. Every day will I give thanks unto thee, and praise thy name for ever and ever. Great is the LORD, and marvelous, worthy to be praised; there is no end to his greatness.read more.
One generation shall praise thy works unto another, and declare thy power. As for me, I will be talking of thy worship, thy glory, thy praise, and wondrous works; so that men shall speak of the might of thy marvelous acts, and tell of thy greatness. The memorial of thy abundant kindness shall be showed; and men shall sing of thy righteousness. The LORD is gracious and merciful, long-suffering and of great goodness. The LORD is loving unto every man; and his mercy is over all his works. All thy works praise thee, O LORD; and thy saints give thanks unto thee. They show the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power, that thy power, thy glory and mightiness of thy kingdom, might be known unto men. Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom; and thy dominion endureth throughout all ages. The LORD upholdeth all such as should fall, and lifteth up all those that be down. The eyes of all wait upon thee, O LORD; and thou givest them their meat in due season. Thou openest thine hand, and fillest all things living with plenteousness. The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works. The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, yea, all such as call upon him faithfully. He fulfilleth the desire of them that fear him; he heareth their cry, and helpeth them. The LORD preserveth all them that love him, but scattereth abroad all the ungodly. My mouth shall speak the praise of the LORD; and let all flesh give thanks unto his holy name for ever and ever. Praise the everlasting! Hallelujah!

Whoso findeth a honest faithful woman, she is much more worth than pearls. The heart of her husband may safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoils. She rendereth him good and not evil all the days of her life.read more.
She occupieth wool and flax, and laboureth gladly with her hands. She is like the merchants' ship, that bringeth her victuals from afar. She riseth ere day and giveth meat to her household, and food to her maidens. She considereth land, and buyeth it; with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. She girdeth her loins with strength, and courageth her arms. And if she perceiveth that her housewifery doth good, her candle goeth not out by night. She layeth her fingers to the spindle, and her hand taketh hold of the rock. She openeth her hand to the poor, yea she stretcheth forth her hands to such as have need She feareth not that the cold of winter shall hurt her house, for all her household folks are double clothed. She maketh herself fair ornaments; her clothing is white silk and purple. Her husband is much set by in the gates, when he sitteth among the rulers of the land. She maketh cloth of silk and selleth it, and delivereth a girdle unto the merchant. Strength and honour is her clothing, and in the latter day she shall rejoice. She openeth her mouth with wisdom, and in her tongue is the law of grace. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not her bread with idleness. Her children arise, and call her blessed: and her husband maketh much of her. Many daughters there be that gather riches together, but thou goest above them all. Favour is a deceitful thing, and beauty is vanity; but a woman that feareth God, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates.
