For the law, having a shadow of the coming good things, not the image itself of the things, can never, by the same sacrifices which they offer continually yearly, perfect those who approach. For by one offering he has perfected in perpetuity the sanctified.

and almost all things are purified with blood according to the law, and without blood-shedding there is no remission.
