Nevertheless man being in honor abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.

For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yes, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no pre-eminence above a beast: for all is vanity. All go to one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again. Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?

For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion.

Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return to God who gave it.

In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.
