One of the men with Jesus put out his hand and drew his sword, and with a thrust at the high priest's slave cut off his ear. Then Jesus said to him, "Put your sword back where it belongs, for all who wield the sword will die by the sword.
But one of the bystanders drew his sword and struck at the high priest's slave and cut his ear off.
Those who were about Him saw what was about to take place, and said, "Lord, shall we use our swords now?" Then one of them struck the high priest's slave and cut off his right ear. But Jesus said, "Permit me to go as far as this!" So He touched his ear and healed him.
