Finally one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answered Him, "Are you the only visitor to Jerusalem who has not heard of the things that have taken place there in these last days?"

When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went out to meet Him, but Mary stayed at home.
After the two days were over, Jesus left there and went on to Galilee, for He Himself declared that a prophet had no honor in his own country. So when He reached Galilee, the Galileans welcomed Him, for they had seen everything that He had done at the feast in Jerusalem, for they too had attended the feast.read more.

If Timothy gets there, see that he is at ease among you, for he is devotedly doing the work of the Lord, just as I am.

Some days after this Paul said to Barnabas, "Let us go back and visit the brothers in every town where we preached the Lord's message, to see how they are." But Barnabas persisted in wanting to take along John who was called Mark. Paul, however, did not consider such a man fit to take along with them, the man who deserted them in Pamphylia and did not go on with them to the work.read more.
The disagreement was so sharp that they separated, and Barnabas took Mark and sailed for Cyprus. But Paul selected Silas and set out, after the brothers had committed him to the favor of the Lord. He journeyed on through Syria and Cilicia and continued to strengthen the churches.
After these events had been brought to a close, Paul under the guidance of the Spirit decided to pass through Macedonia and Greece on his way to Jerusalem, saying, "After I have gone there I must see Rome too."
But now, as there are no more places for me to occupy in this part of the world, and as I have for many years been longing to come to see you, when I make my trip to Spain, I certainly hope to see you on my way there and to be helped forward by you, after I have enjoyed being with you awhile. But just now I am on my way to Jerusalem to help God's people.read more.
For Macedonia and Greece were delighted to make a contribution to the poor among God's people in Jerusalem. They certainly were delighted to do it, and they really are under obligation to them, for if the heathen peoples have shared in their spiritual blessings, they ought to serve them in material blessings. So, after I have finished this matter and made sure of the results of this contribution for them, I shall come by you on my way to Spain. And I feel sure that when I do come to you, I shall come with Christ's abundant blessing on me.
I will come to see you after I pass through Macedonia -- for I am to pass through Macedonia -- and I shall likely stay over with you some time, or maybe spend the winter with you, so that you may help me on to whatever points I may visit.
It was because of this confidence that first I planned to visit you, to give you a double delight; that is, to go by you on my way to Macedonia, and then to come back to you from Macedonia, and have you send me on to Judea.
For I have definitely decided not to pay you another painful visit.
It is now the third time that I have been ready to come to see you, and I will never ask you for financial support, for it is not your money but you yourselves that I want; for children are not by duty bound to lay up money for their parents, but parents for their children.
For you know yourselves, brothers, that our visit to you was by no means a failure.
When I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, do your best to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to spend the winter there.
Because the brothers at Rome had heard of our coming, they came as far as Appius' Market and the Three Taverns to meet us, and as soon as Paul caught sight of them, he thanked God and took courage.
But I think it proper now to send back to you Epaphroditus, my brother, fellow-laborer, and fellow-soldier, but your messenger to minister to my needs,

Continue to remember those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them, and those who are being ill-treated, since you, too, are liable to similar physical punishment.
Do not remain neglectful of hospitality to strangers, for by it some have entertained angels without knowing it.
