O foolish Galatians, who hath deluded you, you that have had the crucifixion of Jesus Christ represented to your view? this one thing I desire to know of you, did you receive the spirit by the works of the law, or by the gospel preach'd to you? have you so little understanding, as having begun in the spiritual doctrine of the gospel, to turn again to the law?

When you did not know God, you did service to those, who in reality are no Gods; but now that you know God, or rather that you are favoured by him, how can ye turn again to the weak and beggarly elements of the law, to which you desire again to be in bondage? observing as you do, the days, the moons, the feasts and years.

But whoever shall occasion such an humble believer to fall off from the faith, it were better for him that a mill-stone were hang'd about his neck, and that he were plung'd to the bottom of the sea.

for false Christs, and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and prodigies, so as to seduce, if it were possible, even the very elect. be you therefore upon your guard: remember I have forewarned you against all events.

You then that formerly were alienated from God, and were enemies by your imaginations and wicked practices, even you has Jesus Christ now reconciled to the body of his church, through his own death, to present you holy, and unblameable, and unreproveable in his own sight: provided you continue well-grounded and settled in the faith, and do not abandon that hope which has been offer'd to you by the gospel, and is proclaim'd to all mankind; of which I Paul am made a minister.

O Timothy, keep what is deposited in your care, avoiding the prophane empty declamations and objections of a spurious science, which some have profess'd, and thereby deviated from the true principles of faith. grace be with you. AMEN.

don't therefore quit that resolution you have, which will be attended with so great a reward. for it is necessary you should persevere, that after having perform'd what God has commanded, you may receive what he has promised. only wait but a little while, and he that is to come, will come without delay.read more.

Do you then, my dear brethren, being thus forewarn'd, take care not to be seduc'd by those prophane impostors, and so lose the reward of your constancy. on the contrary, may you increase in the favour, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! to him be glory both now and for ever.
