4 Bible Verses about Attitudes Of Watchfulness

Be devoted to prayer, keeping alert in it with thanksgiving,

Blessed [are] those slaves whom the master will find on the alert [when he] returns! Truly I say to you that he will dress himself for service and have them recline at the table and will come by [and] serve them. Even if he should come back in the second or in the third watch of the night and find [them] like this, blessed are they!

So then, we must not sleep like the rest, but must be on the alert and be self-controlled. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, are drunk at night. But [because] we are of the day, we must be sober, [by] putting on the breastplate of faith and love and [as] a helmet the hope of salvation,

Be sober; be on the alert. Your adversary the devil walks around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
