How long will You hide Your face from me?
Lord, how long will You look on?
Rescue my life from their ravages,
my only one from the young lions.
How long, Yahweh? Will You be angry forever?
Will Your jealousy keep burning like fire?
How long, Lord? Will You hide Yourself forever?
Will Your anger keep burning like fire?
They cried out with a loud voice: “Lord, the One who is holy and true, how long until You judge and avenge our blood from those who live on the earth?”
How long will the land mourn
and the grass of every field wither?
Because of the evil of its residents,
animals and birds have been swept away,
for the people have said,
“He cannot see what our end will be.”
