How long, O Lord? Will You hide Yourself forever? How long shall Your wrath burn like fire?
Lord, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph and exult?
O Lord, how long shall I cry for help and You will not hear? Or cry out to You of violence and You will not save?
Then the Angel of the Lord said, O Lord of hosts, how long will You not have mercy and lovingkindness for Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, against which You have had indignation these seventy years [of the Babylonian captivity]?
