Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort, who con soles us in all our afflictions, so that we are able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

Blessed are they that mourn; for they shall be comforted.

For the Lamb that is in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and will lead them to living fountains of water: and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

And it came to pass, the next day, that he was going to a city called Nain; and many of his disciples and a great multitude followed him. And when he came near the gate of tho city, behold, they were carrying out a dead man, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow; and a great multitude from the city was with her. And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said to her: Weep not.

Then, when Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews that came with her weeping also, he was greatly moved in spirit, and troubled;
