For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me. But you have saved us from our enemies, and have put them to shame that hated us.
But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from there is the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel:)
And in that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven, and with the creeping things of the ground: and I will abolish the bow and the sword and the battle from the earth, and will make them to lie down safely.
And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the nations: and his dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from the river even to the ends of the earth.
God judges the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day. If he turns not, he will whet his sword; he has bent his bow, and made it ready.
For they intended evil against you: they devised a mischievous act, which they are not able to perform. Therefore shall you make them turn their back, when you shall make ready your arrows upon your strings toward their face.
He has bent his bow like an enemy: he stood with his right hand as an adversary, and has slain all that were pleasant to the eye in the tent of the daughter of Zion: he poured out his fury like fire.
