The voice of the Lord makes the deer to calve
And strips the forests bare;
And in His temple everything says, “Glory!”
Elam took up the quiver
With the chariots, infantry and horsemen;

One third you shall burn in the fire at the center of the city, when the days of the siege are completed. Then you shall take one third and strike it with the sword all around the city, and one third you shall scatter to the wind; and I will unsheathe a sword behind them.

All beasts which range in herds;
Both the pelican and the hedgehog
Will lodge in the tops of her pillars;
Birds will sing in the window,
Desolation will be on the threshold;
For He has laid bare the cedar work.
